WELCOME

Hello and welcome to Hubenak Elementary, home of the Huskies!

Below are some helpful items to know as you join the Hubenak family. Please review, as these will ensure your child's school day runs as smoothly as possible.

CAMPUS INFO

Transportation Changes & Early Check Out

  • Parents/Guardians must have an identification to check out a student.
  • Emergency contacts must be listed in Skyward.
  • Students must be picked up by 2:00 pm. for early pickup.
  • Transportation changes must be called into the front office by 2:00 pm, and by 10:30 on Early Release Days.
  • Transportation changes can ONLY be submitted via written note or phone call.
  • Parents/Guardians are not permitted to email/call teachers to make changes of transportation.

Attendance

  • Doors open for drop off at 6:45 am.
  • Tardy bell rings at 7:15 am.
  • Attendance is taken at 8:15 am.
  • Dismissal is at 2:40 pm.
  • Early Release Hours: 7:15 am–11:15 am.
  • If your child is absent, please submit a handwritten note or doctor note upon returning. Please include child's name, the dates they were absent, and the reason. For acceptable absence reasons please refer to the LCISD Student Handbook.

Birthdays

  • The only items accepted for birthdays are store bought cupcakes, cookies or donuts. These items must have the nutrition label or they cannot be sent to the students.
  • No goodie bags, drinks, or favors are accepted. Flowers, balloons, and gifts for students cannot be delivered at school.
  • Parents must contact teacher prior to delivery to avoid multiple sweet deliveries on the same day.

Dress Code

  • Students must follow the LCISD Dress Code Policy.
  • PE requires running shoes.
  • Students wearing dresses/skirts must wear shorts.
  • Bring a light sweater/jacket, classrooms are often cool. Please label everything with student's name.

VOLUNTEER

Hubenak Elementary encourages all parents, family and community members to become involved in their child's education. We rely on volunteers to manage and monitor special events, for assistance in the classroom, serving in the PTA and much more. We invite you to share your time and talents with our students. Every grade level has a Parent Liaison to solicit volunteers and other resources. Parent and community participation is essential to making Hubenak Elementary and all of Lamar Consolidated the best learning environment for your child and for our community.

Steps to become a volunteer in Lamar CISD:

  • Apply to volunteer by completing the volunteer application.
  • After you receive your volunteer clearance email, contact the campus or department you wish to support as a volunteer to receive information on next steps.
